How to INTENSIFY Color That's Not in Your Reference Image - Soft Pastel Tutorial

In this lesson, I answer one of my most common questions, "How do you intensify the color in your paintings when it's not in the reference image?" If you have ever asked that question, then this is the video for you. In this tutorial I will break down the principles of how to bring life and brilliant color to your painting even when it's not in the reference image.

The painting is created on a small 6" x 6" sheet of black paper, and even though the painting is small the color and intensity pack a powerful artistic punch! I titled this painting, "Fire and Ice" since I loved the combination of cool and warm colors.

So join me as I teach you how to punch up the color in your paintings and help you to understand the concepts using the principles of color temperature and value. It's really not that hard once you know the rules.
