Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: Notes on Grief (Presented with WBEZ)

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is known for her influential essay collections like We Should All Be Feminists and acclaimed novels including Half of a Yellow Sun. In her most recent book, Adichie turns her pen towards the timely topic of individual and societal mourning. An expansion of her 2020 New Yorker article of the same name, Notes On Grief meditates on her father’s recent passing due to kidney failure, set against the backdrop of collective mourning during the pandemic. At CHF Adichie explores the language of grief and what she’s learned from putting the feeling into words. Adichie is joined in conversation by WBEZ reporter Natalie Moore.
