MZA/GONJARA - ASHWAGANDHA

On September 9th 2022, Yen Disco Soundsystem (YDSS) proudly presents their debut LP "WELCOME TO YENWORLD" on Bandcamp and
SoundCloud.

A collection of house, drum 'n' bass and trip-hop influenced sounds from the YDSS roster of divergent producers and musicians.
"WELCOME TO YENWORLD" is an experience; a journey to the metaphysical home realm of YDSS – a place where music genres freely interact and coalesce
into new forms. This journey is presented through the eyes of MZA and Yenboy, who are your guides into YENWORLD via a series of 14 tracks that reflect
the varied sonic textures by producers/musicians GONJARA, IKO-AN, Warabi Bros, plus MZA and Yenboy themselves. The collection features a deep
assortment of styles largely influenced by the artists they respect deeply, and wish to further build upon, while exploring new musical combinations through a
Japanese and Southeast Asian rooted perspective.
Lead singles Yenboy's "Return of the Mayfly" and MZA's "四季ステッパー", will release on August 22nd and 26th 2022 respectively.
On their lead single, MZA presents a chromed out vision of the future heavily inspired by his love of late 90s racing games, which interlaces a sense of
frenetic energy juxtaposed against the calmness of a night drive. Meanwhile, on the ensuing tracks, Yenboy flexes four-to-the-floor focused rhythms with a
funk and disco-minded approach with dashes of electro-punk and lush deep house flavours. These cuts are further counterbalanced by a punch of gritty 90s
boom bap and cinematic aesthetic on double-header "Naha Trippin'" and "次の悪夢" by GONJARA. Closing off with IKO-AN providing a Kaytra-like finesse
on her contemplative and soulful beat, the set leads listeners into tranquil territory with Warabi Bros' ambient lullaby by the river, concluding our maiden
excursion into YENWORLD.

Bio:
Yen Disco Soundsystem is a label that started in 2020 amid the lockdowns of the global pandemic. A label that strives to produce music of diverse and
unlimited genres, YDSS often embraces their Japanese and Southeast Asian roots through instrumentation, melodies and sound textures. Over the span of
the coming months, they plan to work on individual releases that further explore the varying influences of each project.
In 2022, they've landed an online residency on Hong Kong Community Radio with their monthly radio show, YENWORLD. Fuelled by the belief that music is
the basis of all life, their monthly transmission seeks to enrich the minds of the people of Earth with deep grooves, mind-altering sonics and far reaching
genres.
