Nagashiki Shipping of Japan, which owns the ill-fated Capesize bulk carrier, Wakashio, released a statement that it has completed the scuttling of the front part of the vessel on August 24th, 2020 as instructed by local authorities.
The Company is continuously planning along with specialists and authorities to extract the remaining wreck, which is resting on the reefs at Point D'Esny.
