Let's Zoom in on... Sarcoma and women's health

The first of four weekly online chats during Sarcoma Awareness Month.

From menopause to morcellation, fertility to gynaecological sarcomas, this session brings a panel of guests to discuss the impact of sarcoma on women's health.

On the panel

◉ Dr Charlotte Benson, Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Royal Marsden. Dr Benson specialises in the treatment of soft tissue sarcoma and GIST.

◉ Karen Delin (sarcoma patient, support group leader and advocate), was diagnosed with sarcoma in 2006 and not long after set up the London Sarcoma Support Group. Karen has also been Chair of the Sarcoma UK Board of Trustees.

◉ Emma McCloskey has been a sarcoma patient, is also a support group leader and frequent fundraiser. She also was behind the superb blog dizzytix.com which she used to write very movingly about her treatment for sarcoma. She’s currently busy helping us get ready for the final event in our anniversary year - the Glitter ball, which will happen - we hope - in March 2022.

◉ Dr Beatrice Seddon is consultant clinical oncologist on the Sarcoma Unit at University College Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, specialising exclusively in the management (chemotherapy and radiotherapy) of soft tissue and bone sarcomas. She currently lectures and teaches on the management of sarcomas, and is actively involved in clinical research projects in this area.
