Railcar Speeder - Get Out On the Tracks!

One of Gonagain's subscribers contacted us saying he was coming to our town to purchase a railcar speeder and we went along to learn what they are all about. These cars, know as "Speeders" were used by the rail companies for maintenance and inspection purposes but were phased out in favor of the newer "Hy-Rail Vehicles", or pickup trucks with the steel wheels that raise and lower hydraulically. We found out that there are many clubs across the U.S. and that they get special permission from the various railroad companies to get on the railroad tracks and travel, sometimes for long distances. It's a lot of fun where you can make new friends and share a common passion and love for railroading and trains.
