I recently flew a 1924 Lloyd Loar-signed Gibson mandolin to Stephenville, Texas, to meet up with my mandolin hero, Ricky Skaggs.
The mandolin is about to listed on consignment in my General Store and I wanted to know what Ricky thought about it. Like me, he thought it was special. I’m always thankful to spend time with Ricky–hearing old mandolin stories and learnin’ licks.
They say any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. But in this case, a good landing is when the 1924 mandolin is still in tune 🛬😎
