Cold Season is Coming | Making A Homemade Fire Cider Cold Remedy | Roots and Refuge Farm
Natural remedies don't have to be hard, but they take a little forethought! Today we are starting our homemade fire cider recipe so it will be ready when cold season arrives!
A Homemade Fire Cider Recipe
1/2 C. Grated Ginger Root
1 medium onion, chopped
10 cloves garlic, chopped
2 jalapeno peppers
1 lemon, zested and juiced
1 lime, zested and juices
several rosemary sprigs or 2 T dried rosemary
several sprigs thyme
1 T. turmeric
1/4 t. cayenne
1/4-1/2 C rose hips
1 Q. Apple Cider vinegar.
Raw honey to taste.
Put all ingredients (except honey) in a large jar and pour apple cider vinegar over. Cover and place out of direct sunlight to ferment. Make sure you open the lid to "burp" every couple of days so your jar doesn't explode. After 6 weeks. strain and remove all solids. Return liquid to jar and add honey to taste. Drink 1-2 oz as needed, at the onset of any cold-like symptoms, coughing, sore throat.
