42 HOUR Flight! 24,000 MILES! Around the World NONSTOP! | Flight Simulator 2020
In this video, I attempt to fly around the world without refueling and no stops. I fly from San Francisco to Paris, Athens, Dubai, Central India, Sydney, and then back to San Francisco. Total flight time was around 42 hours. Total distance for the trip was 21,453 nautical miles (24,687 miles/39,730 km). On this journey, I saw 3 sunrises and 3 sunsets. I wanted to push the limits of the sim and my computer. I left my PC running MSFS for nearly all of those 42 hours. The file sizes of the recorded videos were clogging up my storage so at the same time while flying, I had to edit segments of the videos and condense and delete them after. It was about 500gb's of recorded video in total and that's in 720p resolution.
During the flight approaching the north western coast of Australia, I had a little bit of an issue when the new update 5 dropped. It crashed me session and I was able to restart a pick up where I left off but with a new livery that could not be change back for hours. Also what you see during the timelapse of the plane rocking back and forth constantly is an issue with the autopilot which I do hope MSFS fixes soon!
PC Specs:
-EVGA GTX 1080ti
-i7-9700K OC to 4.9ghz
-32GB DDR4 RAM
-1TB SSD x1, 2TB SSD x1
All on 3840x2160 (4K) @ 60hz monitor
Graphics settings are on high-end with render scale down to about 80% for good fps around 40-45fps. 25 to 30fps in larger cities. Continually optimizing. Moving render scale down usually improves fps greatly and I see minimal quality picture loss.
