Yosemite National Park has 13 popular campgrounds, of which up to seven are on a reservation system. From April through September, reservations are essential and even the first-come, first-served campgrounds usually fill by noon (often earlier) from April through September.
Campground Reservations
Reservations are required all year for Yosemite Valley's car campgrounds and summer through fall for Hodgdon Meadow, Crane Flat, Wawona, and half of Tuolumne Meadows. Campground reservations are available in blocks of one month at a time, up to five months in advance, on the 15th of each month at 7 am Pacific time. Be aware that nearly all reservations for the months of May through September and for some other weekends are filled the first day they become available, usually within seconds or minutes after 7 am!

Camping Regulations
For your best chance of getting a reservation, be sure your clock is set accurately and start the first few steps of the reservation process at www.recreation.gov before 7 am Pacific time. You can find more help making reservations and other frequently asked questions.
From late May through early September, space at Camp 4 is available only by daily lottery one day in advance.
If you're unable to get a campground reservation, you may want to try a first-come, first-served campground (not available in 2021) or keep checking for cancellations.
Crowd Factor: High when Glacier Point Road is open. It's a short, easy hike with gasp-inducing views as a reward, so it draws a crowd. If you want similar, but slightly more secluded views, try hiking to Sentinel Dome or Taft Point instead. Dewey Point, farther west, is even less crowded - in fact, it might be the only trail in Yosemite that's arguably less crowded in the summer than the winter (it's a major destination for snowshoers and cross-country skiers in the winter). Washburn Point, which you'll pass three quarters of a mile before reaching Glacier Point, is also typically less crowded and a must stop.

Parking: There's a large parking lot at the trailhead. It occasionally fills up, but if you do a loop or two around the lot, something will likely open up. If you're a rain god and can summon thunderheads at will, that should speed things up.
Nearest Bathrooms: Scattered throughout the parking lot, all pit toilets. It's common to find lines three or four deep at the outhouses closest to the trailhead and nobody using the toilets towards the back of the lot, where I usually park because it's handy to the food-storage lockers. Bathrooms with plumbing right at the trailhead have been closed for years, reportedly because the area is too rocky to create a sufficiently large leach field.
Rivers & Waterfalls
As warmer weather begins to melt the snow, even the smallest creeks are rushing with water. You may see many small, unnamed waterfalls and cascades all along the Valley rim. Larger creeks and rivers, along with the better known waterfalls, tend to reach peak runoff in May or June.
Hiking
While most of Yosemite remains snowy through May and into June, some hikes from Yosemite Valley, Wawona, and Hetch Hetchy are often snow-free by April, and most are usually snow-free
