Nikon Coolscan, scanning Kodak 126 film with Filmscan-USA filmholder

Scanning Kodak 126 "Kodak Instamatic" and Kodak 110 "Pocket Instamatic" negative film with Nikon Coolscan 5000 and Filmscan-USA film holder and Vuescan software.

The original Filmscan-USA film holders is no more manufactured. They are very good quality. I bought these on Ebay. You can however buy similar film holders from other suppliers.
The MA-21 film holder is modified to fit the filmholder.

Kodak 126 film is the Kodak "Instamatic" format. It is a square format with an image size of 28 x 28 mm. It is a cartridge-based film format. It was introduced by Kodak in 1963, and is associated mainly with low-end point-and-shoot cameras, particularly Kodak's own Instamatic series of cameras. The term "126" was intended to show that images were 26 mm square, using Kodak's common 1xx film numbering system. However the image size is actually 28×28 mm.

Kodak 110 is the Kodak "Pocket Instamatic" format. It is a cartridge-based film format. It was introduced by Kodak in 1972. 110 is essentially a miniaturized version of Kodak's earlier 126 film format. Each frame is 13 mm × 17 mm.

Kodak 135 film, also just called 35 mm is the "standard" film format for cameras is used for negatives and slides. For comparison the 35 mm film is also shown in the video. The term 135 was introduced by Kodak in 1934 as a designation for 35 mm film specifically for still photography, perforated with Kodak Standard perforations. It quickly grew in popularity, surpassing 120 film by the late 1960s to become the most popular photographic film size. Despite competition from formats such as 828, 126, 110, and APS, it remains the most popular film size today.
