11 of THE FASTEST MOST POWERFUL STREET LEGAL MOTORCYCLES RACE AT HUGE DRAG BIKE EVENT AT NHRA TRACK

Enjoy this side-by-side drag racing action as 11 of the quickest street legal motorcycles battle at a huge drag bike ManCup race at NHRA track, South Georgia Motorsports Park. This Real Street class has a lot of diversity as you will see turbos and nitrous, ZX14, HAYABUSA, and even a lone GSXR 1000 entry, along with riders of all different sizes. Wheel base is used to maintain parity amongst all the different combinations.

There are dozens of legal combinations but the most popular has been the turbo charged Suzuki HAYABUSA Big Bore. A rider under the weight of 120 pounds must keep the wheelbase to 61 inches. For about every 20 pounds of rider weight another inch of wheelbase is allowed, maxing out at 69 inches for a rider weighing more than 260 pounds. Nitrous powered bikes get a little extra wheel base to keep things equal. The GSXR 1000 plays by the same wheelbase rules as the nitrous bikes.

For those new to drag racing, a little extra wheelbase can make a big difference in elapsed time and make the bike less susceptible to wheelies. There is not an exact formula but an inch of wheelbase can be worth half a tenth or more.

In this clip we see former champion, nitrous big man Anibal Merced on his ZX-14 take on the ZX-14 of the lighter Jamie Lopes. The wheelbase difference is easy to see. Then it’s Marcus Hylton on the turbo HAYABUSA up against Jason Herron, also on a turbo Busa. It’s then the Kawasaki ZX-14 of Jason Fernandez up against the Suzuki HAYABUSA of defending ManCup champion, the “Amish Outlaw” Spencer Claycomb. That brings up one of the most successful Real Street racers ever, Johnny “Turbo” Dobrin and his Exoticycle Suzuki HAYABUSA as he takes on Bud Harrod of Georgia. Then it’s then the ZX 14 of Luis Hornedo vs. the Busa of Michael Sancho. Last but not least, multi time champion Jeremy Teasley brings up his brand new GSXR 1000 and steals the show! Looks like we could see more 1000s enter the class! We wrap things up with a funny moment as a grudge rider forgets to turn on the nitrous bottle.
