Woodturning an Oak Log Mug

You can't get any more live edge than this! Turning a fallen branch into a sweet mug.

The mug is green turned English Oak, microwave dried, and finished with several coats of food grade mineral oil. I think it will hold up fine to the occasion cold drink, but I'll stay away from hot drinks and milk.

My drying process is simple. Start with two minutes on high and then one minute at a time with about 30 seconds in between for the steam to clear. I go till the wood stops loosing weight (usually around 30%) and it no longer has a moist feel. You should let the wood acclimate for 24 hours before finishing.
