In this Episode I cycled from the mongolian border to Hohot. Where I have meet my mother. She camed visiting me for 3 weeks.

Together we cycled truth steppe and deserts to Zhangye. On this way we drived over beatiful mountains and had seen some camels, that passed the streets. The camels always watched us, so we never was sure if the camels are more interesting for us or we for the camels xD.

In the near of Zhangye we visited the Mati caves. That are buddhistic tempels that are builded in the mountains. After that we cycled in direction of the Qinghai lake, which we wanted visit. On this way we cycled over high passes, with more than 3500 m altitude. The highest pass was 4100m high and at the top very snowy and slippy truth that. The days after that the wether got more wet with a lot of snow, so we decided to take a little bit easier way to Xining. But this way was still very cold with temperatures of about -10 °C in the night, which was really cold. Also with the Winter gear.

In Xining my mother flewed home to germany. I made my way in direction south over very high mountains beetween 3000 m - 4500 m altitude. But this you will see first in the next Episode 13 ;). So be exited and have fun with this great Episode!!!
