Garnish Island, Glengarriff West Cork Ireland - Summer 2021

One of our best Summer trips in West Cork was the ferry boat out to Garnish Island. It was a hot sunny day and we started off early in the morning from the the Blue Pool dock after grabbing coffee and snacks from the gourmet food vendors nearby. It was a fast enough journey out with a quick stop for pics with some seals relaxing on some island rocks. Getting on and off the boat is easy and there is a cafe on the island as soon as you land. A one way system was explained as soon as we got started then it was off to the gardens, flourishing with colour as well as a clock tower, a Grecian temple, a Martello Tower, and an Italian casita all setting up a beautiful background for pics. We walked this land twice to make sure we didnt miss anything. Then you just find a shady spot, sit back and enjoy the tranquility and zen of the place. We hadnt been out to Garnish Island in awhile and were glad to get back, despite everything going on in the world there was no hassle, there seemed to be plenty of room for everyone. So put it on the list of places to see and if there are more decent days this year it is certainly a nice option. More info can be found at their website
