Today we're talking exactly about whether it's better to live WITH your host family or NOT as an au pair in Paris.

If you're becoming an au pair in Europe, this isn't a question that might even be worth considering as it's a pretty unique situation in the capital of France thanks to the chambre de bonne.

As an au pair in Paris that lives OUT, you'll typically end up in a small room on the seventh floor in your host family's building. Get used to taking showers over your bed while enjoying a WONDERFUL view. It has its ups and downs.

However, if you're an au pair in Paris that lives OUT then expect a potentially nicer room and a cleaner to clean if for you (depending on your host family, of course!) There's positives and negatives to both.
