Defensive Fortification - WATER RESERVOIR - Episode 2

Couvre Porte Reservoir been abandoned since the 1980s, part of the Napoleonic lines (moats) were converted to support water, it was rendered and made water tight.

This is the remains of what once was a massive open reservoir.

Historic Facts about the Water Reservoir:
Robert Palmer, aged 5 of King's Bastion, Brompton, Gillingham, was drowned yesterday when he fell into a disused reservor. A friend, Christopher Morgan, aged 5 of Singapore Drive, Brompton, who also fell in, was rescued by an army Corporal.
