In Quito Ecuador, there's a community of Haitian immigrants who live in the Comite del Pueblo barrio (neighborhood). Because of Haiti's current financial and security crisis, these Haitian refugees left their country in search of a better life and have made it to Quito, and now they are preparing to embark on a journey towards the American - Mexican border.

Quito is the capital of Ecuador, the country's most populous city[2] and at an elevation of 2,850 meters (9,350 ft) above sea level, it is the second-highest official capital city in the world and the closest to the equator. - Wiki
