Hey Dressage Superstar, I am going to answer the question - Why am I sitting so stiff in the canter? Perhaps you are pushing your legs forward which is making you stiff in the canter. You would be doing this because it makes you more secure in the saddle. You are probably sitting back - which is great if you are riding a horse that bucks!! But it's no good to ride like this all the time because you are tense and your body is coming out of the saddle!! There is a reason we say heel hip shoulder - they should all be in line! Your seat is more connected to the horse in this position and you will be able to 'feel' the horse more with your seat bones.
