Master The Classics: Boulevardier

The Boulevardier first appeared in Harry mcElhone's Cocktails and Barflies published in 1927 and was the signature drink of Erskine Gwinn a socialite and nephew to railroad tycoon Alfred Vanderbilt.

This is a very popular Negroni variation and a lot of people have been asking me to make this episode! You all should, if you haven't already, definitely make this drink. And for those of you who are a little trigger-shy on purchasing a full bottle of Campari here's another drink to help you make that decision.

A note on this video: Apparently I got Andrew Carnegie and Alfred Vanderbilt mixed up, I guess rich white men all seem the same to me, but the correction here is Erskine Gwynne was the nephew to Alfred Vanderbilt not Andrew.

Another Note: The orange I use for flaming the peel was a little over ripe so I didn't get an impressive flame. Although it was more than enough for the cocktail itself I shot an episode on flaming peels and I'll release that shortly showing two methods for flaming a peel.
