The Chittorgarh Fort also called Chittorgarh or Chittor Fort is known to be one of the biggest forts in India. It is a well known UNESCO World Heritage Site it used to be the capital of Mewar. It is situated in the present-day city of Chittorgarh. It is located on a hill 180 m (590.6 ft) in height and is spread over an area of 280 ha (691.9 acres) which is above the plains of the valley drained by the Berach River. The fort covers a total of 65 historic structures, that includes four palaces, 19 large temples, 20 large water bodies, 4 memorials and a few victory towers including vijay stambh and keerti stambh. In the year 2013, at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee that was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Chittorgarh Fort, along with five other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was collectively Known as the Hill Forts of Rajasthan.
