Dine with Orcas - Seaworld San Diego - April 14, 2019

Interesting lineup, program was sold out and I didn't get to take pictures like I normally do. Orkid, Nakai, Kalia, Amaya, and Makani join us for this show. A great deal of LRS cues given here, even Orkid did a behavior incorrectly. This is part of the training process, and is a neutral response. You will see the trainer doing a special session with Makani: first she uses various touches to elicit a call, then later she knocks or scratches on the side of the pool (out of Makani's sight) to elicit the same response. This is a variation of the normal hand signal protocol, by changing things up the animals are more stimulated and can think about how they want to respond to the given commands
