National Carriage Driving Trials Sandringham Park July 2017

Action from the National Carriage Driving Trials held at Sandringham featuring day 2 the cross country trials.

The competitors tackled a series of obstacles made up of a series of lettered gates which had to be driven in the correct order. With different routes within the obstacles, this leads to tight turns which required a great deal of judgement and skill from the driver, in order to complete them with the minimum of time penalties. The water obstacle proved a popular vantage point to see the action.

This is my first ever visit and was a most enjoyable day out and I would certainly go again and with lovely weather and a great setting to stage the event.
