Nick and Angela greet a guest who truly celebrates the big B’s in life: baths, broths, and big portions. It’s Mawaan Rizwan!

Mawaan’s career has been anything but ordinary, taking him from clown school to the Edinburgh Fringe. He created and stars in the surreal BBC comedy Juice, alongside his brother Nabhaan and mum Shahnaz, which earned him a BAFTA Award. Now he joins Nick and Angela to chat about the show’s new series.

When he’s feeling fancy, Mawaan’s partial to a vermouth cocktail, so Nick kicks things off with a Sharp Dresser. Angela follows with a moreish pork and mushroom tantanmen, topped with jammy eggs and spring onions. The dish is paired with a glass of Dry Dam Riesling and an ice-cold beer.

The conversation serves up plenty of playful chat as Mawaan opens up about his two-sided food passions—from decadent Wellingtons to the humble boiled egg. He also dishes on the benefits of being in the Bake Off tent (and the drama that comes with it!), and confesses to Angela his secret ooey-gooey burrata-and-noodle pleasure!
