The Chicken Year Month by Month: June

In this series we will be following a year with our chickens month by month. We'll cover:
- What is happening to and with the chickens each month.
- What we're preparing for in coming months.
- Issues that we're on the look out for.

In June our broody hen support takes over for us here on the smallholding. We'll cover:
- An update on Marshmallow who has hatched 12 chicks. We'll look at the changes we have made to accommodate the needs of the chicks in our free-range area
- Additional care for broody hens that are losing weight
- Brooding in breeds that don't normally brood
- Improvising brood coops.
