Painting a Farm Scene and Faux Rust on a Crosscut Saw - Time-lapse

This video covers the process of transforming a rusty old crosscut saw into a work of art with a just a little elbow grease and a lot of acrylic paint. My client commissioned me to paint his in-law's farm on a 5'6" crosscut saw as a Christmas gift for his wife. I had never painted on metal before, much less rusty metal, but after hours of research I came up with the method that I'm sharing with you today. Enjoy!

Actual painting begins at 6:22

Materials used: Liquitex professional acrylic paints, Liquitex matte varnish, Liquitex resin sand, Stabilo marking pencil (white), Krud Kutter the Must for Rust, Rustoleum Self-Etching Primer (gray), Rustoleum Sandable Primer (black)
