UNESCO Sabratha Libya
Sabratha, along with Leptis magna, is one of the most important archaeological sites of Libya, situated 67 km's west of Tripoli. The theatre is the most awe inspiring building of the city. Sabratha was originally a Phoenician site dating from the first millenium BC. Its location on the coast played an important role in its development into one of the richest cities of the Roman colonies in Africa.
