About the Course:
Bullying can have a lifelong effect on a child’s mental health and the rise of cyber-bullying makes it even more difficult to control in our schools. In these modules, Professor Peter Smith shares decades of research and expertise in the field of bullying. He explains how to recognise bullying in the classroom and which children are most vulnerable. He offers practical support on developing a whole-school approach to eradicating bullying as well as individual support for at-risk students. He also shares important legislation that all schools need to know when developing their anti-bullying policy.
About Professor Peter Smith:
Professor Peter K Smith is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and is world-renowned for his research into children’s social development. He’s done extensive research into bullying and violent behaviour in children and is the author of ‘Understanding Children’s Development’ and ‘The Psychology of School Bullying’. Peter is an Oxford graduate and gained his PhD at Sheffield Uni, before becoming Head of School and Family Studies at Goldsmith’s University for 13 years.
