Jerfalcon - Smokin’ Ducks (hunting peregrine falcons)

In the lowlands of the north country, there are a few falconers still practicing the ancient sport of Falconry Duck Hawking!

This is one of their stories!

Falconry is considered the “Sport of Kings!” It has been passed on from generation to generation as one of the most challenging but rewarding arts, and methods of gathering food for ones table, since the days of old!

It is a sport that few practice and even fewer have mastered! In this age of plows and machines, please leave a cover crop and some open waters on your lands so that wildlife and humans can still harmonize once again!

I personally left a moment of silence for each of the quarry’s taken, and even though we share the food aka prey with our birds. We show respect for the lives we must take to survive.
