Unboxing + First Impressions - The Anycubic Mono X - Large Format Desktop Resin 3D Printer

In this video, I unbox, setup and complete the test print on the Anycubic Mono X.

The first, second and third test print did not complete! However, in the end, I was able to get the test print to produce reliably, To do this I set the UV power to 80% (arrived set to 50%) and I lowered the bed closer to the screen (bed plate level as per instructions, then rather than clicking Z=0 to set the new height, move the bed 0.1mm lower and then click Z=0.

On first impressions, despite the few issues getting started, I think this seems like a very good value machine and think it would be a great upgrade choice for anyone already experienced in resin printing. I would not recommend the printer to a first-time resin user, as I think you are best to learn the ropes with a smaller more constrained machine.

Please note, Anycubic sent me this printer at a discounted rate for a review, however, all opinions are based on the full price for this machine. In the UK, it is possible to purchase this printer for as low as £600 if you don't mind waiting for shipping.

Quick spec check:
- Massive build volume (for consumer resin printers): 192 x 120 x 245 mm.
- 4k monochrome screen, produces a dot size of 50µm.
- 4000 hour screen life (I believe this is at 80% Screen power).
- Cooling system

I was surprised the printer does not include a HEPA filter, for a resin printer of this size I would have thought this would have been a must-have feature. So if you do opt for this machine, you will want to purchase an external air filtration unit. You can pick a decent one of these up for around £100.
