Redoing The Connections On The Pool's Polaris Booster Pump

Last year, although everything was working well with the pool, I found the top connection on the Polaris booster pump was leaking--ever so slightly. The fitting has to be in just right for it to mate up with the rest of the plumbing, but I figured a reapplication of teflon tape would help.

It so seems that the jokers who installed it used about half a roll of teflon tape on each connection. I use a wire brush to clean the old teflon out, and then reapplied an ungodly amount. We'll have to see if it leaks once the pool is opened.
