Sonic 2 2013 - Proto Palace: 0:23 (Speed Run)

Another stage that was "added" in 2013 is this one, Proto Palace. It's essentially what was the unfinished Hidden Palace in the original version, but it ends as soon as you touch the top of the emerald that would break in the original.

Playing this stage is kind of a pain for an IL - restarting the stage, dying, or completing the stage does not allow you to retry it, as it'll take you to another level. Instead, you have to enter a level select code every time you want to play it. Not only that, because you need debug to be activated to access the stage, you only have access to 2 buttons to spindash with too.

It's for these reasons that I stopped at 23 when clearly better is possible if you get Tails to have decent momentum at the curve jump. Afaik this is actually the first 23 though, so whatever it's still something.
