Germany: Police car involved in deadly crash in central Berlin

A woman has died after her vehicle collided with a police car in central Berlin on Monday afternoon.

The police car, with its emergency lights flashing, was responding to an incident in Postdamer Platz, when it collided into the driver’s side of a white Renault Clio, under a tunnel near Rotes Rathaus.

The driver died instantly, while two policemen were left seriously injured. They have since been taken to hospital.

Police have not commented on who was responsible for the deadly crash, although an investigation has been opened.
