Why Does Calgary Have FOUR Runways?

As Canada's fourth busiest airport in 2019, YYC served nearly 18 million passengers! It has four runways - 35L/17R, 35R/17L, 08/26, and 11/29.

At the number four spot though, why does Calgary have more runways than two of Canada’s busier airports?
