RAW MATERIAL Time Is... (Full Album) LP RCA NEON NE 8 UK Monster Rare 1ST PRESS 1971 £2000

In 1971 RCA (probably due the success of Phillips off-shoot Vertigo, and likewise EMI`s Harvest) decided to add another label to its UK roster, called Neon. It was however short lived and only lasted for 11 releases, some of which have become incredibly rare today. One such release was by the Psych/Prog rock band `Raw Material` called Time Is...(Neon NE 8) released in 1971 it came in a gatefold (Keef) sleeve with black inner. So rare that a Mint copy was sold in 2015 for £4,688 however most copies depending on condition sell for around £1500 - £2000 as of 2019. It has of course the very distinctive Neon label design on the one side with track listings on the rear label. Great music on a really collectible label that also released Spring, Dando Shaft & The Running Man!

RAW MATERIAL a British band that released two albums in the early 70's that are now highly collectible. The group developed a slightly jazz-tinged progressive rock so typical of that era. Their debut album `Raw Material` had some great moments, however most prog heads will prefer the much more even Time Is.. this album (with the line-up augmented by a second guitarist Harewood) was much more 70's-sounding and left loads of space for instrument interplay and many fine moments.
