Thursday 11 p.m.: Tropical Storm Josephine continues its track north of Caribbean islands

As of Thursday night, Josephine is east-southeast of the northern Leeward Islands and is moving west-northwest at 17 mph with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph.

The forecast track takes the storm just north of the Caribbean islands and eventually turns it northeast away from Florida.

Josephine might also be a short-lived storm since it will move into increasingly unfavorable conditions with strong wind shear. The storm is forecast to begin weakening by Saturday night. By Monday, the storm is expected to drop back down to depression status with winds of just 35 mph, and may soon dissipate after that.
