There is a basic common rhythmic vocabulary in flamenco, and we all need to know it, understand it and master it. In flamenco we often express them by singing simple rhythmic cells such as "TACATACA" or "TICOTA". In this video, we explore many rhythmic possibilities with the "TICOTA" cell on a simple 3-beats compás, based on the subdivisions, and what we call “rhythmic shift”. Shifts are very common, mainly in the baile, where the footwork constantly uses the changes in flow rate, in subdivisions.
This lesson inlcudes MANY EXERCISES to help you understand, visualize and FEEL THE RHYTM. If we understood from the start a few things about rhythm in general, we could **SAVE A LOT OF TIME** in our practice!
