The Maths Prof: Sequences nth Term (part 2)

Here I show you how to find the nth term of a QUADRATIC sequence of numbers. First I show you how to find the nth term by comparing with the sequence n². From 03:29 I show you how to find the nth term of a more difficult sequence by using three equations (see below 👇) to find the formula an²+bn+c (aka nth term).

The three equations:

2a = 2nd difference (the difference between the differences!)
3a+b = difference between 1st 2 numbers in the sequence
a+b+c = 1st number in the sequence
