White Pine Lake #littlecottonwoodcanyon #whitepinelake

Hike from White Pine/Red Pine Trailhead to White Pine Lake, in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The last mile of the hike to the lake winds through a granite (quartz monzonite) boulder field. The trail is good through the boulders -- it used to be a mining road long ago. You'll hear lots of pikas and see a few scampering around. I saw a marmot couple there as well. There was a Cooper's hawk at the lake, which was great to see.

A side-trip to Gloria Falls.
