Bridgetown, die Hauptstadt von Barbados, ist eine Hafenstadt an der Südwestküste der Insel. Die Stadt ist für ihre britische Kolonialarchitektur bekannt. Das Zentrum bildet am Constitution River der National Heroes Square mit dem Parlamentsgebäude und dem Nelson-Denkmal. Dieses ist sogar noch älter als das berühmte Nelson-Denkmal in London. Wie auf vielen der karibischen Inseln ist auch hier der Tourismus die Haupteinnahmequelle. 2011 wurden das historische Bridgetown und seine Garnison zum Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO hinzugefügt. Barbados zeichnet sich durch ein tropisch feuchtes und trockenes Klima mit relativ konstanten Temperaturen im Laufe des Jahres aus.

Bridgetown is the capital and largest city of Barbados. As of 2014, its metropolitan population stands at roughly 110,000. The Bridgetown port, found along Carlisle Bay lies on the southwestern coast of the island. The present day location of the city was established by English settlers in 1628. Bridgetown is a major West Indies tourist destination, and the city acts as an important financial, informatics, convention centre, and cruise ship port of call in the Caribbean region. On 25 June 2011, Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison were added as a World Heritage Site of UNESCO.
Bridgetown features a tropical wet and dry climate, with relatively constant temperatures throughout the course of the year.
