End of WWII: Hitler’s Suicide & Germany’s Surrender | Allied Victory in Europe

By the end of 1944, the Allies had pushed into Germany. In April 1945, the Soviet Red Army, led by Marshal Zhukov, launched its final assault on Berlin. Adolf Hitler, refusing to surrender, committed suicide on April 30, 1945. Just days later, on May 7, Germany officially surrendered, marking the end of WWII in Europe.
