2025 Acura MDX Advance: Driving Impressions | Car Conversations

Today we are driving the new Acura MDX. The MDX was refreshed for the 2025 model year, and Acura made just the right amount of changes. The exterior is slightly revised with a new color and body colored moldings for the Advance model, and you get new quilted massaging seats on the inside along with a touchscreen. It is still powered by a 3.5L naturally aspirated V6 pumping out 290 horsepower and 267 pound feet of torque through Acura’s industry leading SH-AWD. The ride quality is sublime even though the Advance model doesn’t come with the air suspension. You barely feel the bumps come through and it should be great for long commutes or long road trips. There also isn’t a ton of wind noise because the cabin is very well insulated. The Advance model adds to that with double pane windows, blocking out even more noise. Handling is great since Acura is focused on a sporty and luxurious driving experience, and SH-AWD helps out a lot with that. You can push 70% of the 290 horsepower to the rear wheels, and of that 70%, 100% can be put to one of the rear wheels. That should make the MDX a great car for the snow as well as a curvy road.
