Newport Survives 'Barn Burner' Game!

The Newport Tigers defeated the Kearsarge Cougars 21-14 to improve to 4-2 this season and continue their win streak. Kearsarge falls to 0-7 and will have their last chance to win a game next week vs. Epping-Newmarket.

In the first quarter, Jaxson Lord took it home for a QB keeper rushing touchdown to put the Tigers up 7-0. Chad Hemingway responded with a QB rushing touchdown of his own to tie the game 7-7. Newport's Aidan Couitt scored a pair of second half touchdowns to help the Tigers secure the win. Chad Hemingway connected with Aidan Ruckman to tie the game at 14 before Couitt's second touchdown.

This was a very close 'barn burner' of a game that could've gone either way. We plan to cover Kearsarge next Saturday as they host Epping-Newmarket at 10:53 am.
