How to move to New Zealand from the USA

Thinking of moving to New Zealand from the United States? There are several visa options that allow you to move from the USA to NZ - here's my take on the most popular ones. I moved from the US to NZ in November 2016 on an Accredited Employer work visa. My partner came with me on an extended visitor visa; we applied for his Partner of a Worker Work Visa in April 2017, and he received it in June 2017. We spent far too much time on Immigration New Zealand's website to figure out how to do all of the above, so I hope this saves you some trouble!

These visa options are probably also available if you are hoping to move to New Zealand from countries other than the US, but I honestly have no idea as I never did that research.
