Nikon P1000: How well does it Zoom over Different Distances? (1 - 70KM/ 0.6 - 43 Miles)

I wanted to produce a #Nikon P1000 #Zoom video with a little context this week so found a spot on a local Mountain that essentially gave me a line of Islands all within a few degrees of each other.

The benefit of this is that I can get a relatively consistent shot over a short period of time in conditions that don’t change.

I have done tests in the past looking at the cameras capabilities over short distances, so I Invite you to have a look at those as well as any of my other P900 or P1000 videos.

Hopefully this is a good reference video for anyone looking to purchase any of the Coolpix superzoom #range of cameras from Nikon and are specifically interested in how well it zooms over different distances.

North head: 1.08 KM/ 0.67 Miles
Browns Island: 8.4km/ 5.2 Miles
Waiheke Island: 23.7KM/ 14.7 Miles
Ponui Island: 34KM/ 21.1 Miles
Coromandel Forest Park: 70KM/ 43.4 Miles
