After rising through the ranks of the #Qatar office of a Top 10 #PRovoke global public relations firm to account manager, my sister, Myriam Chandna Khan, moved to the United Kingdom in 2013.

There, she chose to intern with a UK PR firm before resuming her rise in the world of public relations. Why intern when you're already at a managerial level? Why did she do that?

She said her motto was that 'sometimes moving backwards is moving forward'. Myriam told me she felt that she needed to familiarise herself with the media landscape as well as the nature and type of clients and their deliverables both before resuming her career in a completely new market.
