The snowcocks are a group of bird species in the genus Tetraogallus of the pheasant family, Phasianidae. They are ground-nesting birds that breed in the mountain ranges of southern Eurasia from the Caucasus to the Himalayas and western China. Some of the species have been introduced into the United States. Snowcocks feed mainly on plant material
The moment captured is one of my fond memories close to my heart. Actually i was scared at first when the birds ran across me as they were plenty in numbers and unknown to me. Sensing them being harmless i offered some roasted corn to them which they seemed to really appreciate. They were not afraid of us. It felt like we were bonding. In an excitement of moment i even emptied my pocket full of corns. But the best moment was even when i had nothing to offer they became my company for a long distance as if they are seeing off their friend wishing to meet again. It is beautiful and mesmerizing memory i have of them.
