Input RV AC Power Meter Install Mod - Displays Total Amp Draw and Voltage Reading

In this video, I install a Drok AC Amp/Volt Meter into my 2011 Keystone Cougar fifth-wheel trailers power distribution panel.

The Drok AC amp meter comes with a hall effect ring sensor for installation on the hot or neutral wire of the incoming 30A RV power cable. The voltage measurement and power for the meter are attained via a connection to the converter charger 15A breaker output. I also added a 2A inline fuse between the breaker and the Drok meter for an extra layer of safety.

To mount the meter, I cut a small opening in my power distribution panel using a multitool with a plunge cut blade. I dressed the leads as best I could with electrical tape and reassemble.

The meter works great and is easy to see from all angles. This AC amp meter will help me maximize our electrical usage during this winter while still avoiding tripping the 30 amp breaker.
