Heavy rainfall in Nepal has caused rivers like Kosi and Gandav to rise in Bihar, leading to severe flooding. The water level of Kosi has entered areas such as Saharsa and parts of West Champaran. The situation in several districts of Bihar is grim, with the Kosi Barrage in Nepal discharging over 5.5 lakh cubic meters of water. This has resulted in several villages being inundated and thousands of people affected. The Kosi river, often referred to as the sorrow of Bihar, is causing havoc in districts such as Supal, Saharsa, Madhepura, Khagaria, and Naugatia.
