Capitan Mining Inc. is a Canadian junior gold and silver exploration and development company focused on the advancement of its Cruz de Plata Project in Durango Mexico. The company has rebranded its Peñoles Project to the Cruz de Plata Project and believes the new project name is more aligned to its silver focus and exploration potential.

The project holds an inferred mineral resource of 305 Koz of Au at a grade of 0.46 g/t at the El Capitan deposit and 15.1 million ounces of silver at 0.63 g/t at Jesus Maria. The inferred resource is based on 10,000 m of drilling. The project holds significant exploration potential according to the company.

The Cruz de Plata project holds an oxide gold prospect, namely the El Capitan zone as well as the past-producing Jesus Maria and San Rafael silver mines. The project also holds the Pinchazo target and the Capitan 2 target. The company has acquired all the outstanding NSR royalties of the Cruz de Plata Project for approximately USD$ 1 million.

Capitan Mining Inc. is currently underway with a 5,000 m exploration project at its Jesus Maria silver deposit. The highlights of the exploration drilling program includes the interception of three high-grade silver intervals of 798.29 g/t AgEq over 1.5 m, 860,19 g/t AgEq over 1.5 m and 641.0 g/t AgEq over 1.5 m.

The drilling program has also discovered new mineralisation north of the Jesus Maria zone with an interval of 13.7 m of 63.3 g/t AgEq. The company plans to continue with its exploration program and has completed 15drill holes to date with the assay results of 11 thereof still pending.
